Automotive In-Store Marketing, Inc. Privacy Statement

Automotive In-Store Marketing, Inc. (AIM) is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. Because AIM gathers certain types of information about the uses of the Automotive In-Store Marketing, Inc. (the “Service”), we believe you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the use of the information we collect. This Privacy Statement discloses what information we gather, how we use it, and how to correct or change it. Please review the following policy to understand how the information you provide AIM will be treated.

1. Information We Compile.

In general, we gather information about all users collectively, such as what areas users visit most frequently and what services users access the most. This information, which is automatically retrieved, is anonymous and is used only in aggregate form; no individual user is identified. The aggregated data lets AIM analyze site traffic and better tailor our content to users’ needs.

When MerchoMembers™ register with us, we will request certain personal/business information, including your name, business address, and business e-mail address. Automotive In-Store Marketing, Inc. as with any secure site, requires MerchoMenber™ users to have a user ID and a password which they must use every time they log into their MerchoMember™ Account.

For visitors to our Web site who view its general contents, not including a MerchoMember™ Account, no registration of any kind is required.

AIM’s purposes for collection of information pertaining to MerchoMembers™ could include helping us in offering content and providing customer service, network management, customer surveys, offers of related services and other exchanges of information at Web sites. It also provides us with aggregate demographic data that AIM uses to improve the Service.

For visitors to our Web site, AIM may, from time to time, request personal information at other times, such as when we provide you with the opportunity to give us your contact information when providing feedback with respect to the use of the service. We also may use or retain your e-mail address and other personal information if you communicate with us.

2. What AIM does with the information it collects.

The personal information you supplied to AIM by either MerchoMembers™ or visitors to the site will not be disclosed outside of AIM, except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with legal process, (ii) enforce the Terms of Use, (iii) respond to claims that any content on the Service violates the rights of third parties, or (iv) protect the rights, property or personal safety of AIM, its users or the public.

Certain non-personal information of visitors is recorded by the standard operation of AIM’s Internet servers. This information is primarily used to provide visitors to the Service with an enhanced online experience. Information tracked includes the type of browser being used by the visitor, the type of operating system, and the domain name of the visitor’s Internet service provider. AIM may disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe the service to prospective partners, advertisers, and other third parties, and for other lawful purposes.

AIM may use customer contact information from the registration form to send the user information about our company. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below. AIM may use personal information to determine the demographics of our users and to distribute statistics and general marketplace information about AIM. These demographics will always represent aggregate information and will never identify a specific user.

Some features of the Service may be offered in conjunction with a partner company. In order to provide these features, it may be necessary for either you or us to share your personal/business information with this company. If you do not want your data to be shared, you can choose not to allow the transfer by not using that particular service. Also, please be aware that advertisers or Web sites that are linked to the Service may collect personally identifiable information about you. The information practices of those Web sites linked to the Service are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

Automotive In-Store Marketing, Inc. may contain links to other sites. AIM is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.

3. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small data file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages you've visited. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. You DO need to have cookies turned on to use the Service. AIM uses cookies to track user traffic patterns and the time duration of your visit to the site.

If you've set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie.

4. With whom information is shared.

We do not share, distribute, sell or rent information about individual users with any third party or any outside companies. But as we mention above, we may share with our Web site partners aggregated non-personal statistical information about the use of the Service to better tailor our content to users’ needs and to help our Web site partners understand the demographics of our audience.

5. User Options -- Opt-In/Opt Out

If for any reason AIM does decide to collect and use personally identifiable information for any purpose not listed above, AIM will inform users about its use of personally identifiable information. As mentioned above, AIM may use customer contact information from the registration form to send the user information about our company. Users may opt out of receiving future mailings by sending an e-mail with their name to: unsubscribe@autoinstore.com.

6. Security

AIM wants to keep your personal information as secure as reasonably possible. That is why AIM uses secure connections, encryption (SSL and RSA), and other state-of-the-art privacy and encryption technologies to ensure that the information in each individual account is available and viewable by that account only. As an additional security measure, all of your personal information is stored on our servers at a location designed specifically to ensure that no unauthorized individuals have access to the server or its data.

7. Children’s Privacy

This service is not intended or designed to attract children under the age of 13.

8. Privacy Policy Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy for AIM, we will post those changes on the Service so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information and whether we will disclose it to anyone. By using the Service, you signify your assent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes.
